Hummel's Student Dress Code |
John R. Hummel is a Standard Student Attire school. All students are required to wear the approved standard attire. The following requirements must be adhered to: |

All clothing must be:
- Solid, approved school colors (navy blue, white, cherry red)
- Free of slogans, designs, advertisements, pictures, wording, numbers, and jewels/studs
- Free of holes or slits
- Sized to fit
- Fingertip length (shorts, skirts, and skorts)
Shoes:
- No flip-flops, shower shoes, or house shoes
Shirts:
- Navy blue, white, cherry red - solid color/plain, or school logo
- Long or short sleeved
- Collared or tee-shirt style
Pants:
- Navy or plain blue denim, white, cherry red, or khaki (no designs or holes)
Shorts, skirts, skorts, capris, jumpers, and dresses
- Navy or plain blue denim, white, cherry red, or khaki (no designs)
Sweatshirts:
- Plain or school logo in approved school colors
Jackets, sweaters and sweatshirts
- Articles of clothing that will be removed in the building do not have to follow standard student attire colors. Sweaters or sweatshirts that will remain on inside the building need to be navy blue, white, or cherry red.
All other dress attire, head gear, hats, sweatshirts, etc. should be left at home.

Campus Club (360-0555) is our uniform supplier and can be contacted at the above phone number. We have standard student attire order forms in the office. There are also local department stores that carry uniform clothing that will meet District requirements.

Standard Student Attire Progressive Discipline Plan

1st Violation
The office will conference with the student, reminding student about appropriate Standard Student Attire. A reminder letter will be sent home to parents/guardians.
2nd Violation
Administration will conference with student and provide the opportunity for student to change into Standard Student Attire. A phone call will be made to parents/guardians.
3rd Violation
"Required Parent Conference" to ensure that parents are aware of the policy.

Students will dress in accordance with the CCSD Dress Code. Dress and appearance may not disrupt or detract from the educational program. CCSD DRESS CODE: |

1. Requires the wearing of shoes with soles.
2. Prohibits wearing crop tops (no skin showing between bottom of shirt/blouse and top of pants or skirts), strapless, low-cut clothing, clothing with slits, or tops and outfits that provide minimum coverage.
3. Prohibits spaghetti straps; all sleeveless shirts must have straps at least three inches wide and cover the shoulder.
4. Requires that all shorts, skirts, and dresses must be at fingertip length. If shorts are worn, they must be hemmed and without fraying.
5. Prohibits wearing headgear on campus. (NO HATS)
6. Prohibits slogans or advertising on clothing which by their controversial or obscene nature disrupt the educational setting.
7. Coats, mittens, and scarves must be removed upon entering the classroom. |
